Borders – Before Tomorrow is a performance and installation work that explores themes of power, migration, and climate change. The audience observes the performers from behind steel crowd-control barricades, structures commonly used to manage movement, enforce separation, and contain public gatherings. By positioning viewers behind these barriers, the work highlights the physical and psychological boundaries that shape experiences of displacement, exclusion, and authority.

Projected images of human migration, climate crises, and political power structures form a shifting backdrop, connecting personal experiences to global systems. Throughout the performance, the performers use torches to direct beams of light across the space, guiding the audience’s attention while evoking surveillance, control, and the search for safety and belonging.

The interaction between barriers, projected imagery, and moving light creates an immersive environment that encourages viewers to reflect on the forces that influence movement across borders and the uncertain futures shaped by environmental and political change.
